Breakthrough Engineering

The first hybrid vehicle sophisticated enough to wear the Cadillac wreath and crest, Escalade Hybrid represents a remarkable technological achievement. Its powertrain includes a 332 hp Vortec 6.0L V8 engine with Late Intake Valve Closing (LIVC), a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System (ESS) and an advanced Electronically Variable Transmission (EVT). Not only is this powertrain capable of powering Escalade Hybrid at low speeds on electricity alone, it maximizes efficiency at higher speeds by allowing the gasoline engine to operate for long periods in fuel-saving four-cylinder mode thanks to Active Fuel Management®.

Do It All. Do It In Style

Escalade and Escalade ESV's standard 50/50 divided three-passenger third-row seat flips and folds forward when you require more cargo space and can be removed entirely when necessary. The second-row seats also flip and fold with the touch of a single lever. For even more convenience, there's an available power release fold-and-tumble system. It allows you to fold the second-row seats forward at the touch of a button without ever leaving the comfort of the driver's seat.

2010 Cadillac Escalade Vortec engine

Power Is Just The Beginning

Escalade's aluminum-block Vortec 6.2L V8 VVT engine generates a tremendous 403 horsepower. It also puts out vast amounts of torque - 417 pounds-feet of it, to be exact, enough to tow trailers weighing up to a very substantial 3674 kg (8100 lb.). Yet, thanks to premium features like Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and Active Fuel Management®, Escalade delivers excellent fuel efficiency for its class of vehicle and does it on regualr gasoline. The Escalade V8 is also a FlexFuel engine capable of running on E85 ethanol - an important consideration with today's rising fuel prices.

**Based on comparison of Escalade AWD with Vortec 6.2L V8 engine and Escalade Hybrid 4WD with Vortec 6.0L V8 engine. Your actual fuel consumption may vary.
